Hill of Oaks Lodge & Caravan Park

Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park is located in UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Lake District National Park. This award winning and picturesque park is nestled on the slopes of ancient woodland, boasts exclusive Lake Windermere frontage for almost one mile, and offers guests the opportunity to enjoy some time at a slower pace and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The park is ideally situated for those looking to explore and discover all that this beautiful corner of Britain has to offer. And with a range of visitor attractions nearby, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone. Sit back and relax on a scenic train ride or leisurely cruise on those picture-perfect lakes, discover the world of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, or simply forget time as you wander through the quaint Lakeland villages and towns.

The Lake District tempts walkers of all abilities with an abundance of hiking opportunities; from lakeside strolls, ambles amongst the rugged hills or more challenging climbs into those craggy fells, and all with the dramatic backdrop we know and love. And after a day exploring, there’s nothing better than retreating to the comfort of your accommodation.

We have a wide range of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets.

Our collection of dog-free and dog-friendly self-catering properties are perfect for action-packed getaways with the family, or a chilled break with friends. Silverholme, Ladyholme, Otterholme and Cragholme are beautiful apartments that once formed part of a lakeside stone mill. Each apartment affords views over the serene waters of Windermere.

We also have four cottages named Curlew Crag, Fir Holme, Bee Holme and Lily of the Valley, all of which offer a warm and comfortable space in which to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring the Lakes.

The contemporary Woodland Lodge features two double bedrooms and two modern bathrooms, and is dog-friendly, while Blakeholme Bay View is a dog-friendly lodge perfect for two featuring a cosy double bedroom and private balcony with lake views

Allow the impressive Waterbird Boathouse on Windermere to become your private sanctuary; a place to escape to with someone special, celebrate an occasion with a group of friends, or simply ditch the routine and unwind with family. With a double bedroom, additional twin room, and an open plan lounge and dining area that leads onto a balcony overlooking Lake Windermere, you won’t be disappointed.

Our glamping pods and safari tents are ideal for both couples or families that are looking to upgrade their camping experience. Choose between our safari tents that feature everything from Chesterfield sofas to wood burners, or our range of cosy glamping pods with kitchenettes, double beds, and heating. We have two Lakeside Deluxe Glamping Pods with accessible features making them suitable for a range of guests.

Our dedicated seasonal touring area has great facilities for seasonal touring caravans and awnings. You'll find an accessible toilet and shower block, washing up and laundry areas, and a recycling point. All seasonal touring pitches are hard standing and feature an electric hook up, water, and some have grey waste drainage.

If you are a self-catering, glamping, or seasonal touring guest, you're welcome to bring your own canoe, kayak, paddle board, or inflatable, and make use of the slipways and piers. Charges apply - £20 per item, per stay. This can be added upon booking. Power boats are not permitted. Other on-site facilities include a café and farm shop, laundry, playground, and dog park. Wi-Fi available - see individual properties for complimentary/chargeable.

Whether you’re in search of relaxation or adventure, Hill of Oaks offers the perfect base for your Lake District holiday.
