YHA Whitby Abbey House is a magnificent Grade 1 listed building situated on the Headland immediately beside the iconic ruins of Whitby Abbey. The hostel offers superb accommodation and catering for families and groups.

Road Directions

By Road: The hostel is approximately 0.5 miles from the town centre. Follow signs to the Abbey, up Green Lane, turn left and continue beyond the Abbey car park. As you approach the turning area, keep left under the archway and follow the driveway alongside the Abbey wall, go under a second archway and park in the courtyard. By foot: follow signs to Abbey - from end of Church Street, go up 199 steps to Abbey turning circle. Turn right under arch way and carry straight on through second arch to hostel. By bus: No 97 from Whitby Bus Station to Abbey Turning Circle. By road: From A171 follow signs to Abbey, at Abbey turning circle drive through arch at Gatehouse, carry straight on through second arch to hostel car park.
