The Centre
Located in the main High Street of this historic market town, the Heritage Centre is a museum of the town’s history from the Norman Conquest to the present day.
The Museum & Heritage Centre at Henley-in-Arden, near Stratford-upon-Avon, England is a unique facility made possible by the generosity of a former Lord of the Manor of Henley-in-Arden, Joseph Alexander Hardy of Pennsylvania and inaugurated by his daughter, Robin Hardy Freed, in November 1996.

This Week in History
23rd April
St. George's Day is traditionally celebrated on 23rd April. Despite having Roman or Greek origins he is the patron saint of England and his cross forms the national flag. He is immortalised in the legend of St George and the Dragon. In Henley, the George and Dragon Inn stood in the High Street near to the Market Cross until the early 20th century with its painted sign of St George slaying the dragon hanging over the door.

The Heritage Centre re-opens for the season on Saturday 30th March
Interested in becoming a volunteer?
The centre relies on our volunteers to stay open. We are holding coffee mornings for our volunteers and for anyone interested at the Heritage Centre on: 12th, 13th & 14th March at 10.30am.
New for 2024: A short video about the Centre and the history of Henley will be available for visitors to see. It will also help visitors who are unable to access the rooms upstairs.
