With 65 acres to explore, Avon Tyrrell is a fantastic accessible location in the New Forest National Park and the perfect space to safely distance and relax.

Our unique heritage and beautiful site features a range of accommodation options, including a Grade I listed calendar house, lodges and camping areas. Through an extensive range of inclusive outdoor activities and tailored programmes, we provide the opportunity for everyone to ‘Experience, Learn and Develop’.

Whether you are looking to book a residential, a short break or visit us for the day, we are accessible to all and our staff are committed to making your visit an unforgettable experience.

We believe that everyone should have the same opportunities to experience, learn and develop outdoors and we are committed to being a fully accessible centre.

Understanding the needs of individuals is key to making visits to Avon Tyrrell special. Gain confidence, improve communication, develop self confidence and support general health and wellbeing. With specialised staff who are passionate about inclusion, we will deliver high quality support in a safe, accessible environment, so there should be no holding you back.


For those looking for an adventure, we have a range of on-site activities, putting inclusivity and accessibility at the heart of everything we do. Get your blood pumping on our High Ropes Course, Tree Top Trail or Zip Wire across the lake. Relax on the water in a Canoe, develop your skills with paddleboarding, or enjoy nature at its finest through a selection of environmental activities such as Archery, Bushcraft and Shelter Building. We have the staff and equipment to enable you to participate in as many opportunities as possible

Hire a bike with us (we have a selection on inclusion bikes in our fleet) and access our bike tracks as you weave through the trees. Self-guided activity packs are also available for those looking to really explore the grounds including; Treasure Hunt, Geocaching and Orienteering.

For organised groups, we are happy to host a site tour prior to your visit, as experience has taught us that this is often the best way for us to fully understand the extent of what is needed for your visit and how we can support you throughout your stay, it also allows you to see first-hand what we have to offer and ensure you can enjoy and relax when you arrive.

When you book a break with us, your money is safe. If we close due to COVID-19, you’ll be able to move your break or get a refund. T&C's apply.

We have also implemented various processes to ensure the safety of our guests and staff including; quarantining equipment, limited contact activities, single household/social bubble sessions, enhanced cleaning processes and safe socialising.

Road Directions

If you are driving to Avon Tyrrell please use Sat Nav location: Braggers Lane, or use the Postcode BH23 8ED

Travelling from London, the North or East

From the southbound M3 motorway just before you get to Southampton, join the M27 and follow signs for the West and Bournemouth (the M27 eventually becomes the A31 dual carriageway). After approximately 15 miles, exit off the A31 left for Burley (signposted Burley and Services) and follow the signs into Burley (about 3 miles). In the centre of the village you will find a triangular junction - turn right (signposted Bransgore and Avon Tyrrell). After a couple of miles you will rise up a hill and come to a crossroads at Thorney Hill. Turn right (signposted for Avon Tyrrell).

Go over the cattle grid, continue for 400m until you reach a fork in the road, Avon Tyrrell is signposted. Take the right fork which is our private drive. Please obey the speed limit and watch out for the speed ramps, at the end keep left and follow the drive up to Avon Tyrrell House at the end.

Travelling from the West of England

Coming from the West of England head for Ringwood via the A31 or A338, continue East past Ringwood up the main A31 dual carriageway for about 1 mile. As you get to the top of a hill there is the turning off left signposted to Burley and services. Continue to Burley and Avon Tyrrell as per the directions above.

Public Transport Directions

If you are travelling by train there are a few stations that you can trave to. 

Brockenhurst - 10 miles

New Milton - 6 miles 

Hinton Admiral - 5 miles


By Taxi

You will find a taxi rank at both Brockenhurst and New Milton but if you are travelling to Hinton Admiral you will need to book a taxi in advance to pick you up from the station.
