Road Directions

We are situated on the main A6 running through Matlock Bath. There is a 2 hour stay pay-and-display car-park adjacent to the Museum and two other long-stay car-parks within a ten minute walk. Accessible by Public Transport: Matlock Bath station is 0 miles away.

Public Transport Directions

Several buses stop directly outside the museum, including the Trans Peak, the 6.1 and the 140/141. These provide good connections throughout the region, for example to Matlock, Derby, Bakewell, Buxton, Nottingham and Manchester.

There is a regular train service running between Nottingham/Derby and Matlock Bath. The Museum is about 10 minutes walk from the Train Station.

Opening Times

* The Peak District Mining Museum will be open weekends only from the 4th July.
We will be running mine tours into Temple Mine for individual family groups from the 11th July. These must be booked in advance.
We will also be holding mineral panning sessions from the 11th July - again these must be booked in advance.
