About

Here at John Fowler Holidays, we offer 2 different types of holiday home for guests with limited accessibility. We have a range of fully adapted caravan accommodation suitable for wheelchairs users which will include low level work tops, wider doorways and full wet rooms along with ramped access and dedicated parking.

These can be found at South Bay, Widemouth Bay, St Ives, Trelawne, Killigarth, Perran View and Sandy Glade.

For guests with some mobility we have a range of assisted accommodation. These units have level (or ramped) access, close parking, grab rails and may feature a wet room (depending on park and accommodation choice). These units are available at Combe Martin Beach, Sandaway Beach, Widemouth Bay, Perran View, Tolroy Manor, St Ives, Trelawne and Sandy Glade.

Accessibility - Food and Drink

  • Dietary requirements catered for - A selection of food is offered for a range of dietary requirements. 
  • Quieter table  - A table located in a quieter area is available, where noise is minimised. 
  • Table service as standard or on request   - Table service is available as standard or on request. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible food and beverage outlet - There is at least one wheelchair-accessible food and beverage outlet on site.  

Accessibility - General

  • Designated quiet space or room - A designated quiet space or room is available. 
  • Disability awareness / equality training - Disability awareness / equality training is provided for staff. 
  • Emergency alarm with flashing lights - There is an emergency alarm with flashing lights, to alert deaf guests to a fire or other emergency scenario. 
  • Emergency evacuation plan for disabled people - Personal or General Emergency Evacuation Plans are in place for disabled customers. 
  • Enclosed outdoor area - There is an enclosed outdoor area for customer use. 
  • Facilities for assistance dogs - Facilities are available for assistance dogs e.g. water bowls, toilet area, within the grounds of the venue or nearby. 
  • Firm surface into and around site - There is a solid surface into and around the site.  
  • Map / floorplan showing accessibility facilities - A map or floorplan showing accessibility facilities is available.  
  • Pitch close to accessible bathrooms - There is at least one pitch within 50 metres of the accessible bathroom. 
  • Single-level - The venue is all on one level, with no steps or raised thresholds. 
  • Site is level with no steep slopes  - The site is level with no steep slopes. 
  • Step-free access to all or most areas - There is step-free access to all or most areas. This may include access by ramp or lift. As a minimum, there is step-free access to an accessible toilet and at least one food and beverage outlet, where available. 
  • Step-free entrance - There is step-free access at the main entrance or an alternative entrance. This may be via a ramp or lift. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible toilet in public areas - A designated accessible toilet designed for wheelchair users, and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements, is available within the main public areas. 

Accessibility - Parking

  • Accessible parking at pitch - An accessible parking place is available for at least one pitch. 
  • Designated accessible parking is available within 50 metres of the main entrance or an alternative step-free entrance if applicable.
  • Parking within 50 metres of entrance - Parking is available within 50 metres of a customer entrance, either on-site or off-site, in a car park or on the street. 
  • Step-free route with firm surface from car park to entrance - There is a step-free route with a firm surface from the parking to the main entrance or an alternative step-free entrance. 

Accessibility - Wheelchair-accessible bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom - There is at least one ground floor bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible accommodation unit - There is at least one wheelchair-accessible accommodation unit. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible bathroom - bath only   - There is at least one wheelchair-accessible bathroom which has a bath, with a transfer seat and grab rails, rather than a roll-in shower. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible bathroom with roll-in shower  - There is at least one wheelchair-accessible bathroom with a level floor, including a roll-in shower. 
  • Wheelchair-accessible bedroom - There is at least one wheelchair-accessible bedroom to accommodate wheelchair users and others with mobility impairments.
