Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and is a cultural hub. The city’s shipyards is where the legendary Titanic was built and you can enjoy plenty of heritage attractions that commemorate this engineering feat. In fact, ship building and maritime history are still huge draws to the city and you can find plenty of ways to explore this fascinating part of Northern Ireland’s culture. There are an array of accessible facilities including audio guides, hearing loops, quiet sessions and more.
The city’s Queen’s Quarter is the place to go for shops and museums and in the warmer months, you can enjoy the beautiful Botanic Gardens, while the Cathedral Quarter is the place to be for lively cultural experiences thanks to its vibrant social scene. Foodies will want to flock to this part of the city and enjoy the many accessible places to eat. Art lovers will also enjoy this part of Northern Ireland, Belfast is full of murals showcasing the region’s political and cultural history.
For somewhere with real mysticism, head to Giant’s Causeway and explore the Causeway Coastal Walk. Although not suitable for everyone due to the natural layout of the landscape, this is an iconic place to visit and the calming atmosphere makes it a great place to enjoy.

Known as the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland, Co. Armagh has lots to offer for a disabled friendly holiday. Armagh City Centre is full of Church of Ireland buildings and features plenty of connections to St Patricks. You can even visit his own cathedral while in the city.
Lough Neagh can also be found in the county. This haven of natural beauty is teeming with wildlife and has some incredible views. The visitors’ centre there is fully accessible and admission is free, so if you’re in the area, make sure to schedule in time for a visit.
