About

Stubcroft Farm Campsite is an award winning, traditional, family run site close to some of the South Coast’s best sandy beaches, Chichester Harbour and the South Downs National Park. The campsite is in level paddocks surrounded by arable fields and sheltered by attractive hedges & trees. There is a wealth of wildlife on the farm with over 72 species of birds identified; deer, hedgehogs, foxes, rabbits, rare butterflies and much more. We pride ourselves on a friendly & welcoming atmosphere.

Our highly rated new shower & toilet block has been recently opened with modern showers, toilets, washbasins, family rooms with baby changing facilities, hairdryers, washing up sinks, laundry, and a well-stocked shop & reception area complete with phone & tablet charging lockers. The block has been architect designed to be completely environmentally friendly with solar panels & many other energy saving & environmentally friendly features.

It has also been designed with accessibility in mind recently winning South East Tourism’s prestigious Bronze award for Access & Inclusivity. There are two wheelchair accessible shower rooms (one left handed & one right handed) each with shower, toilet & washbasins and a further wheelchair accessible toilet, all to the latest Doc M standards. The building has disabled parking near the entrance, is fully wheelchair accessible with shallow ramped access with handrails. Door signs have raised letter & Braille panels and even guest safety has been considered with pull cord alarms in each accessible room and both visual & audible fire alarms. Staff are on hand to assist wherever necessary and if you have any particular requirements such as secure chilled medicines storage or anything else please let us know. An Access Statement is available, including audible & large type versions, on request.

We have 35 electric hook-up points as well as traditional tent pitches. The shop serves teas & coffee and stocks a good range of groceries including fresh milk. eggs & bread, local fresh sausages, bacon & barbecue produce, ice creams & cold drinks, logs, charcoal, camping goods & much more.  We hire firepits for that classic evening campfire & even do logs, marshmallows & toasting sticks! The campsite is environmentally friendly and has recently been awarded a prestigious Green Tourism “Silver Award”. Other recent awards include Visit England’s “Beautiful South” Tourism Silver Award for Responsible, Ethical & Sustainable Tourism, a Bronze Award for Best Campsite & a further Bronze Award for Access & Inclusivity.

Stubcroft is uniquely situated in an area known since medieval times as "God's Pocket" for its warm, sunny location and sandy beaches. It is in the lee of the Isle of Wight, which provides a mild, dry local microclimate with one of the highest average sunshine hours on the UK mainland.

Near the campsite are some of the best sandy beaches on the South Coast. Bracklesham Bay is a long curving sandy bay that runs from Selsey Bill in the East to the famous sand dunes at West Wittering that forms the entrance to Chichester Harbour in the West. Bracklesham Bay and East Wittering with their villages, cafes, restaurants & beaches are within walking distance from the campsite. You can explore the quiet lanes of Chichester Harbour, the Salterns Way cycle path, discover West Wittering beaches & sand dunes of East Head, ride along the Canal towpath to Chichester or across the “Itchy Bosom” ferry from Itchenor to the picturesque village of Bosham.

East Wittering & Bracklesham Bay villages are within walking distance and provides a good selection of traditional village shops and places to eat from simple fish & chips to classic French, Spanish & Italian cuisine, all within a few hundred yards of the sandy beaches. There are many great local attractions & days out nearby as well as activities including windsurfing, sailing, cycle & walking routes, the South Downs National Park and the historic cathedral city of Chichester.

Turn right on the apex of the second bend into a little lane called Tile Barn Lane. Go 200yds, over two speed humps, then turn left before the houses onto a long, gravel farm lane. If arriving by car, you can use SatNav devices to get close but please follow the instructions for the last part. We have three lanes that lead to the campsite but two of these are farm tracks & sometimes satnavs direct you in the wrong way. They are nice to walk to the beaches but unsuitable for vehicles. If your SatNav/GPS device has a "Via" function, you can enter 'PO20 8PJ' via 'Tile Barn Lane' which should bring you to us.
