About

Hertfordshire's Zoo voted ‘No.1 Outdoor Attraction’ by Tripadvisor, home to over 800 exotic wild animals, ranging from the biggest tiger species to the smallest known monkey the pygmy marmoset. There are new habitats called ‘Sun Bear Heights’ and ‘Jaguar Jungle’, which are designed to mirror the natural environment of Southeast Asia and the Pantanal of South America.

The World of Dinosaurs attraction introduces brand new animatronic dinosaurs, this is the UK’s biggest and most spectacular dinosaur attraction. Take a step into the prehistoric era as you explore over 40 roaring and moving dinosaurs, taking you on a journey through time.

There are various catering outlets where you can grab a bite to eat, you can either choose to relax with the incredible tigers situated at the Land of the Tigers called Bamboo Kitchen. Instead, you can get a fast-food option and explore our newly refurbished dinosaur themed restaurant, restaurant Pangaea.

Hertfordshire Zoo is also Europe's leading attraction for animal experiences where visitors can meet animals up close including the most famous, ‘Feed a Big Cat’, where you can hand-feed one of the Amur Tigers. You can also meet the mischievous meerkats and all funds raised from animal experiences go straight to the conservation and welfare and care of the animals in the zoo and the wild.

The newest area, UK Centre of Species Survival Trail, offers visitors a thrilling adventure. This innovative route ingeniously brings together animals and birds, creating a journey through the incredible native species of the UK, amidst lush greenery that celebrates British wildlife. The trail features captivating displays that educate on environmental care, inspiring everyone to contribute to the well-being of these species.

Hertfordshire zoo provides a great experience for people of all ages and provides an atmosphere that is accessible for all.
