The Yorkshire Hive

Yorkshire Wildlife Park has made every effort to make the park accessible to all guests. 

Pre-Arrival

By bus: The First Bus South Yorkshire 357 service will take you directly to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Yorkshire Hive from the Doncaster Interchange. The service will run hourly from Monday to Sunday.

The Hornsby Travel Buses 399 & 499 will take you directly to Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Yorkshire Hive from the Scunthorpe. This service runs Monday to Friday.

By train: The nearest train station to the park is Doncaster Station. Yorkshire Wildlife Park is around 6 miles by taxi from Doncaster Rail and Bus Interchange.

By car: Yorkshire Wildlife Park can be easily accessed by car from the A1 and M1 via the M18. Use our postcode DN9 3QY for sat-nav directions to our NEW car park entrance. Once you are within close proximity of Yorkshire Wildlife Park please follow the 'Brown Signs' directing you to Yorkshire Wildlife Park car park.

For customers visiting Yorkshire Wildlife Park, use the right hand lane. For Hex Wildlife Hotel, The Yorkshire Hive and accessible/blue badge, please use the left lane.

Electric Vehicle Charging: We have 6x 7.2kW (32A) charging bays in our Priority Car Park. Follow signs from the main car park entrance for 'Vehicle Charging'. Access to the Monta EV Charging App is required to start your charge.

Please note: the distance between the accessible car park and Wildlife Park entrance is approximately 240m.

Getting around the park

You can hire manual wheelchairs, mobility scooters or child strollers if needed.  We recommend pre-booking online to avoid disappointment as availability is limited.

Cafés

YWP has 5 main eateries throughout the park, with additional snack bars open subject to seasonality. If you have any special dietary requirements, don’t hesitate to let a member of staff in the relevant cafés know and they will do their best to accommodate your needs.

Toilets

Accessible toilets are found throughout the park, including a Changing Places facility.

Paths

The majority of the pathways throughout the main park are level, with shallow gradients in areas. All pathways are accessible to wheelchair users. 

Seating and rest areas are located throughout the park as well as wheelchair wash stations.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park, except in animal walkthrough areas.

On arrival we ask that you make a member of staff in the ticket kiosks aware that there will be an assistance dog onsite so they can explain any restrictions to you and inform the animal teams.

Road Directions

Yorkshire Wildlife Park can be easily accessed by car from the A1 and M1 via the M18. Exit the M18 at Junction 3 and follow signs for the airport. Continue along the Great Yorkshire Way (A6182) until you reach the second roundabout. Take the 1st exit and stay on Great Yorkshire Way for approximately one mile. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Hurst Lane and continue straight. Once over the railway bridge take the left lane and first exit at the roundabout, follow signs to Yorkshire Wildlife Park car parking. Priority / accessible car parking is also available.

Public Transport Directions

By Train- Doncaster is very accessible by train, please click here for more information.

By Bus​​​​​​- From the Doncaster Bus and Rail interchange take the 57 bus to Hurst Lane/Poplar Way (from Stand A4), the Yorkshire Hive has a dedicated stop on this route. The Yorkshire Hive Entrance is a flat ten minute walk from the bus stop. The 57 runs a frequent return service throughout the day. Bus 57a is also available on this route.
