Bernard is the Director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), a membership organisation comprising the majority of Britain’s best known museums, galleries, castles, palaces, cathedrals, heritage sites, historic houses, zoos, gardens and leisure attractions, attracting more than 12 million visitors per month.
David's career over 50 years has seen him contribute to the work of many employer associations, professional bodies, tourist boards, government agencies and the media to raise standards of education and training across the hospitality and tourism industry, achievements recognised in 1998, when he was made an OBE.
Tom Shakespeare is a campaigner for disability rights, a writer on disability, genetics and bio-ethics and Professor of Disability Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
