For many years the 200 year old Manse Courtyard adjacent to Crathie Kirk on Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, lay derelict. In 2002 as a result of five years of fundraising by local volunteers, and with the support of the Church of Scotland, these fine old granite buildings were transformed into four expertly designed self-catering cottages.

While accessible to all, the cottages also offer a unique range of facilities so that disabled people, so often excluded from such holidays, can enjoy the most relaxing of holidays in wonderful surroundings. The range of additional equipment is extensive and includes hoists and wheeled shower chairs and is provided at no extra charge.

The cottages are adjacent to Crathie Manse near Ballater, 40 miles west of Aberdeen. They are situated within the Cairngorm National Park on the banks of the River Dee and have views to the neighbouring Balmoral Estate and Lochnagar beyond. Royal Deeside has been a favourite holiday destination for generations of families from all over Scotland and still continues to be a very special holiday choice.

The cottages are surrounded by an extensive fenced play area and with the protection of a security gate the facility is also ideal for families with children.
