Bike Week is an annual event that celebrates cycling and the health benefits that come from getting out and about in the open air.
This year, Bike Week is running from 8th until 16th June and with the number of companies offering adapted bikes and the various accessible cycle tracks appearing all over the country, there is no reason why everyone can’t get involved in this year’s event.
Accessible cycling is a great way to get out in the open air and enjoy the British countryside. If you happen to be in the Norfolk region, be sure to head to Thetford Forest. Not only are there great opportunities for accessible cycling, but there is a company based at the forest offering a range of bicycles to hire for disabled visitors. These include tricycles with platforms for wheelchairs, tandems and more.

Thetford isn’t the only place that offers accessible cycling opportunities, Sustrans, who regulate the majority of the nation’s cycle routes have been actively working to make sure that their cycle routes are as accessible as possible.
