Bonfire Night is one of those celebrations that everyone can get involved with, there are a whole host of displays taking place all over the country and if you don’t want to deal with the crowds at a public display, you’re welcome to have your own private one. If you are planning on attending a public display, here are some suggestions of accessible displays taking place this bonfire night.

Inverness’ Civic Bonfire and Fireworks Display

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Scotland is well known for making its attractions as accessible as possible and this annual display in Inverness is no different. It is one of the most popular displays in this part of Scotland and features a whole host of live entertainment as well as the usual firework displays.
The site has a number of flat areas where wheelchair users and others with mobility issues can comfortably watch the display. The site also has disabled parking available, allowing you to easily access the display.

This year’s display will take place on 5th November.

Ally Pally Firework Festival

London’s Alexandra Palace will light up again over the 1st and 2nd November with their annual Fireworks Festival. It is London’s biggest and arguably best bonfire night celebration and regularly welcomes in excess of 100,000 guests.

The event is organised by the Alexander Park and Palace Charitable Trust who say: “We aim to make the festival as accessible as possible and have a dedicated accessible area on both nights, a dedicated blue badge parking area, access to the display viewing platform and tickets for PAs. There is step free access across the site and the performances in the ice rink and theatre have access provisions including lifts and accessible areas.”

Himley Bonfire and Fireworks, Dudley

This display has a special theme this year of To the Moon and Back and will aim to take you back to that historic moment when Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon. As well as fireworks, there will be entertainment and a funfair open until 10pm on 2nd November.

Himley Hall is accessible by car or there is a free bus which will run across the borough and has disabled facilities. There is disabled parking on the site.
Those with mobility aids are able to watch the display from the terrace area of the Hall which is hard standing and provides an elevated view of the display, plus there are ramps and disabled toilets on site.
