The latest report on inbound visitors coming to the UK with a health condition or impairment has been released by VisitBritain. This report compares the behaviour and travel numbers of visitors from 2018 to those in 2010 and looks at the accessible needs and experiences of those visitors.

The new report has found that since 2010 inbound visits from those with a health condition or other impairment has risen and is up in both volume and value and that the number of guests using wheelchairs has also risen.

Compared to 2010, 1.9% of visitors coming to the UK has an impairment or health condition or was travelling with someone who does. It was estimated that 2.1% of all inbound visitor spending came from this group and that health conditions or impairments most likely to be mentioned were those relating to mobility, deafness and long term illness. The report also found that visitors with a health condition, were likely to stay longer and spend more than visitors without one.
