A number of highstreet chains have announced that they are supporting Chron’s and Colitis UK’s Not Every Disability is Visible Campaign and will be installing new signs at their accessible toilets making it clear that the facility is available to all those with a disability, not just those using mobility aids.

The latest chains to voice their support are Nando’s and Wagamama, this comes after Wetherspoons signed up following an incident at one of their pubs where someone with a hidden disability was challenged about using the accessible toilers.

The Not Every Disability is Visible campaign aims to help people with hidden disabilities use the facilities they need without the abuse and intimidation that so many of them face on a day to day basis. The new signs will be appearing in Nando’s and Wagamama restaurants all over the country in the next few months.

Speaking to reporters about the announcement, Andy McGuinness, Chron’s and Colitis UK’s campaign manager, said: “Having such well known household names like Nando’s and Wagamama support our Not Every Disability is Visible campaign is a fantastic result for us and just goes to show the strength of the Chron’s and Colitis community in making change possible. We hope to be announcing
