Earlier in the year during World Book Day, one of the issues raised with authors and publishers was to include more disabled characters in their work to help create a more positive representation of those with accessibility needs. It is hoped that by doing so, more people would gain an understanding of what day to day life is like for those living with a disability and so, we thought we’d compile a list of books that does positively show disability.

This isn’t an exhaustive list and you can find plenty more book recommendations on sites such as goodreads, but here are a few to get you started. These stories contain realistic characters living with a disability that aren’t all doom and gloom, if you can think of any more, let us know!
