ECHO, a disability charity in Herefordshire have received a second donation from Hereford’s high street after T K Maxx made a donation thanks to store assistant, Jade Millward.

According to local reports, Jade rehearses and performs with ECHO’s disability theatre company, About Face and her enthusiasm for the project saw the store previously donate £1,000 through their Good Causes fund which fundraises for different charities.

Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, ECHO have continued to offer their valuable service to vulnerable people across the county and their About Face company have continued their work by heading online. The team of actors have been using video calls to rehearse, devise new projects and more in between lockdowns. This led T K Maxx to follow up their donation with a further £500.

Speaking about the donation, Jess MacKenzie, the artistic director of About Face, told reporters: “We were delighted with the original generous donation from T K Maxx and this latest donation has given us a huge boost in these difficult times. The money will continue to support the ambition and skills of our learning disabled actors and will great encourage our hard working actors, staff and volunteers.”
