Stations managed by National Rail in the Southern region are offering new facilities to make the service more accessible, which will primarily benefit passengers using British Sign Language as well as blind and visually impaired toilet facilities.

The first of the new services is SignLive, which is an around the clock sign language interpretation service, which helps deaf or hearing impaired passengers to keep up to date with station announcements and safety information throughout the duration of the service. The second service, RoomMate, is an electronic wall mounted device that provides blind and visually impaired passengers with a bespoke audio description in an accessible toilet. This guides them through options such as the location of the toilet, flush and hand basin so they can use the toilets safely and independently.

The facilities will now be at following stations: Clapham Junction, Guildford, London Bridge, London Cannon Street, London Charing Cross, London Victoria and London Waterloo.
