A new guidance has been published to support museums and heritage sites to make sure they are fully accessible to disabled visitors throughout the reopening process, following the latest measures to lift lockdown restrictions in England.

The guidance, created by EMBED, the Disability Collaborative Network and the University of East Anglia, aims to help museums and similar businesses highlight potential barriers faced by their disabled visitors and offers solutions to allow them to be more accessible.

The guide also offers practical advice for continuing to remain Covid safe during reopening, with reminders about sunflower lanyards and other exemptions to wearing a face covering and social distancing. It also offers practical advice on making their online presence accessible with design suggestions for their website and content options for social media platforms.
