North Hayne Farm Cottages run an award-winning accessible and inclusive family farm in North Devon offering self-catering holidays to families.

Earlier this year and in addition to their many awards over the years, they were proudly recognised by The Purple Angel Dementia Awareness Campaign, as a Dementia Friendly Business in North Devon and ambassadors for Dementia. The Purple Angel Dementia Awareness Campaign began back in 2012 in Devon and is now being acknowledged globally.

With over 44 million people living with Dementia around the world North Hayne Farm wanted to be a part of such a campaign which aims to increase understanding of the condition and offer support and understanding to families affected by it.

Having first-hand experience of Dementia (when one of their team was diagnosed with it) North Hayne Farm actively supports ‘hidden disabilities’ and learned how important it was to raise awareness of the condition.

“By being a part of such an important scheme we hope to continue making our holidays as inclusive as we can. No one should feel unable to discuss their needs or those of particular family members. We understand, and will always do everything we can to enable holidays to be taken together and precious family memories to be created while they can.”
