NHS GP, presenter and author, Dr Radha Modgil, is encouraging disabled people and their families to enjoy ‘A Daily Dose of Discovery’ this summer after partnering with the new edition of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain.
Dr Radha is passionate about how daily small and tangible, yet powerful, actions can support us all to feel better mentally and emotionally. Research has shown that getting out and about is vital to our mental health. In fact, Natural England has advised that people should spend at least two hours a week outside in the fresh air. With the ending of pandemic restrictions, there is now more freedom to get out and start exploring what Britain has on offer and Dr Radha hopes that the nineth edition of the guide will help with that.
She said: “I’m excited to be supporting this new edition of the Rough Guide to Accessible Britain. It is widely recognised that being outdoors and in nature is vital to our well-being and can help combat loneliness, depression and anxiety. We’re encouraging a Daily Dose of Discovery, helping people to get out and explore accessible attractions in the UK, that in return will have a positive effect on their mental and emotional well being.”
