Thanks to match funding from Portsmouth City Council, the city will be benefiting from new larger, more accessible toilets in several venues across Portsmouth.

There are already Changing Places toilets in the city and this recent funding means that there will be 10 across Portsmouth by 2024. In March last year, three were announced for the D-Day Story carpark, Norrish Library and Fratton Community Centre, which will be open this year. Three more will be added at King George V playing field’s pavilion, Exploria and Bransbury Park Leisure Centre.

Changing Places toilets are designed to enable anyone, regardless of their ability to go to shops, attend appointments, enjoy community life and travel. They often include additional facilities to usual accessible toilets, including shower facilities and other equipment.

To access these toilets in Portsmouth, a RADAR key will be required. You can find your nearest Changing Places facility using the map on their website here.
