Christmas with the Clauses brings an actor-led festive journey to the Oxfordshire attraction from 21 November to 24 December 2026, and includes the traditional visit to Father Christmas in his atmospheric grotto
Fairytale Farm in Chipping Norton is transforming its annual Christmas celebration for 2026 with an ambitious new live adventure, created in partnership with TaleGate Theatre Productions.
Christmas with the Clauses will invite families to become part of an interactive festive story, moving through a sequence of actor-led encounters as they help Santa, Mrs Claus and their mischievous team prepare for Christmas Eve.
The adventure begins when visitors discover that the Cheer-O-Meter at Christmas HQ is running dangerously low. Families can help the Gingerbread Man with his Christmas story, add their festive wishes to Santa's tree, help Mrs Claus recreate her missing reindeer-food recipe and take part in a series of Reindeer Games. A personal visit to Santa in his Grotto, a Fairytale Farm favourite, remains at the heart of this journey. Finally, every child with a gift ticket chooses a special present from the Elf Village Shop.
The live journey forms the centrepiece of Fairytale Farm's most substantial Christmas event to date. Tickets also include a personal family visit with Santa, the attraction's Christmas illuminations, festive Mouse Town, a Christmas Passport, seasonal trails and activities, animal encounters, the Journey to Alice's Wonderland ride and admission to Fairytale Farm.
Fairytale Farm founder and director Nick Laister said:
“This is a genuine step change for our Christmas event. In previous years families have enjoyed our grotto, lights and festive activities, along with a number of Christmas scenes, but this time they will enter a complete live story and help to make it happen. And when many venues now do shared visits to Santa, ours remains a personal and private visit, in our famous Grotto, that evokes memories of Christmases of the past. We want Christmas with the Clauses to feel personal, funny and wonderfully immersive from beginning to end.”
He added:
“The important difference in 2026 is that children will not simply stand and watch. They will sing, make wishes, help Mrs Claus, play games with the reindeer and see the Cheer-O-Meter respond to what they do. The whole family becomes part of Christmas HQ, while still enjoying the warm, unhurried Santa visit that our visitors value.”
James Worthington, Artistic Director, TaleGate Theatre Productions, said:
“Christmas is all about creating magical memories together, and with Fairytale Farm we will be creating an immersive festive experience that invites families to step into the story and become part of the magic. We want everyone to feel welcome, included and able to enjoy the Christmas cheer, with something for children and adults of all abilities to discover and enjoy. TaleGate Theatre’s productions are centred on bringing people together, sparking imaginations and creating those special moments that families will remember long after Christmas is over.”
Dedicated Santa's Sensory Sessions will also return. A full Sensory Day will be held on Wednesday 16 December, with Sensory Evenings on 28 and 29 November and 11 and 18 December. These sessions are reserved for children and young people with SEND and their accompanying families and provide a quieter, more relaxed experience.
Christmas with the Clauses opens on Saturday 21 November and runs on selected dates until Thursday 24 December. Tickets cost £25.99 for a child with a gift, £18.99 for adults and older children without a gift, and £12.99 for an under-two with a gift. Under-twos without a gift and registered carers are admitted free.
