A crew of monsters has arrived at Clarks Village as part of a new family trail.

The Mindful Monsters storytelling trail challenges families to explore and discover seven colourful monsters hidden throughout Somerset shopping outlet before meeting Honest Dorris – a 4ft-high monster statue and self-declared ‘monster hugger’.

The brand-new trail is inspired by the popular Mindful Monsters children’s books by Kiersten Ward, and encourages kindness, mindfulness and emotional awareness. Each monster represents a positive theme and shares its own mindful message.

Now open, the Mindful Monsters trail has a permanent home at Clarks Village for families to enjoy, following a successful launch event hosted by the author, featuring storytelling and meet-and-greet sessions.

Harry, aged 6, who took part in the trail on launch day, said: “It was really fun, my favourite was Bobbleflop – he had a really funny name!”

Guests can collect a free trail sheet from the Guest Services team before setting off on their monster hunt, with those who complete the trail receiving a free gift. A new Mindful Monsters selfie bench has also been installed for families to capture the moment.

Marc Myers, Retail Operations Director of Clarks Village, commented: “The new Mindful Monsters trail is a fun and interactive addition to our family offering at Clarks Village, with a strong, positive message at its heart. We’re grateful to author Kiersten Ward for visiting us for the launch of the trail and the live storytelling sessions, which were very popular with our guests. Alongside our adventure playground, outdoor spaces and gardens, family-friendly restaurants, regular events and a mix of over 90 brands offering discounts of up to 60% off RRP, there’s something for everyone at Clarks Village.”

Author Kiersten Ward added: “It was a delight to spend the day at Clarks Village and see the Mindful Monsters trail brought to life. I loved meeting so many children to introduce them to the monster characters through the storytelling sessions and hope the trail is enjoyed visit after visit.”
