Purple Tuesday is an international call to action focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people across the world. This year, Purple Tuesday will be celebrated on12th November, with businesses of all sizes and from all sectors getting involved to take practical actions to meet the needs of customers with disabilities and accessibility needs.

Across the UK, the Purple Pound, the term used to describe the spending power of those with disabilities and their family, is said to be worth around £249 billion and is rising on average by 14% every year. Worldwide, the Purple Pound generates around £2.25 trillion. However, less than 10% of businesses have a targeted plan in place to help those with disabilities and mobility needs.

Purple Tuesday aims to help raise awareness and create a change in the awareness of the needs of disabled customers and their value to the economy. It is all about making positive steps to making the customer experience accessible and continuing to make a public commitment to ensure that improvements are being made going forward.

Businesses are invited to get involved in Purple Tuesday, no matter what their sizes, find out more here.
