The FA have sadly announced that they have taken the decision to cancel this year’s FA Disability Cup, which usually takes place in July. This follows recent steps to stop all other football games in the face of the outbreak of Covid-19.

Speaking about the decision online, the FA said: “These are challenging circumstances for the whole of English football and all decisions taken are in the best interests of the game. Our primary concern will always be for the safety and welfare of clubs, players, staff, officials, volunteers and supporters during this unprecedented time.

The FA Disability Cup is the largest competition of its kind in this country, and for the past four years it has ensured that players within impairment-specific football have a national competition to call their own, complete with dreams of reaching St George’s Park for the finals weekend.

We look forward to hosting the FA Disability Cup again in 2021 when it is hopefully safe and appropriate to do so.”
