Nike have been applauded for their latest launch, a pair of hands free trainers, which were designed to better support disabled athletes.

The Go FlyEase Trainers, which are available now, don’t have laces, Velcro or any kind of straps, and can be taken on and off without bending thanks to the company’s new tensioner technology. This works by including a strap that goes around the outer edge of the shoe allowing the heel to hinge downwards so that the wearer’s foot can be easily slipped out by pressing on the heel with the other foot.

The new range has confirmed Nike’s commitment to creating accessible shoes with a design ethos ensuring that all shoes in the line are easy to wear, remove and accommodate different foot shapes. The GO FlyEase trainers are available in three colours and are currently offered to selected Nike Members with a full range being launched later this year.

Speaking about the new range, Bebe Vio, a Paralympian who won Gold for fencing, told reporters: “I spend so much time to get in my shoes. With the Nike GO FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump o it. The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone’s real life.”
