This year’s World Hearing Day is taking place on 3rd March with the theme of “To hear for life, listen with care”. There are a host of campaigns and events taking place across the world for the big day with lots of ways for you to get involved.

For World Hearing Day 2022, the World Health Organisation will be focusing on the importance of safe listening as a means of maintaining good hearing for life. Last year, WHO released research stating that an increasing number of people were living with and were at risk of hearing loss caused by being exposed to loud noises. This year’s event will focus on continuing to highlight noise control as one of the key interventions to help us all look after the health of our hearing.

Through the To hear for life, listen with care campaign, the WHO will be encouraging governments and industry partners to be more aware of their research and to promote safe environments to help us all maintain the health of our hearing. As part of the campaign, they will be launching a global standard for safe listening at entertainment venues, among other resources.

There are events taking place around the world to raise awareness for World Hearing Day on 3rd March, so make sure to keep an eye on social media for ways in which you can get involved.
