You are here: UK Regions > The Channel Islands > Accommodation in the Channel Islands
The Channel Islands are a beautiful archipelago made up of a series of islands, many of which are uninhabited. The main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm all of whom offer a historical charm, delicious food and plenty of options for places to stay and things to do.
Whatever island you choose for your base, there are plenty of options when it comes to finding the perfect place to stay with everything from five star luxury hotels to cosy self catering cottages and incredible farm house stays.
Depending on where you choose to stay will depend on what hotels are on offer. The island of Herm has one hotel that services the whole island, while the bigger islands have a raft of different hotels to choose from with everything from large resorts with a real French feel to stylish boutiques.
Many of the hotels across the islands have spectacular sea views, beach front locations and just about every luxury you can think of.
Is there anything better than waking up to the sun rising across gorgeous surrounds and enjoying the first cup of tea of the day alongside toast lathered in Jersey or Guernsey butter? Camping in the Channel Islands is a real adventure choose from with coastal and country locations. If you choose to stay on one of the smaller islands, you won’t even need to rely on a car as the islands are small enough to walk around!
Alongside the hotels, the Channel Islands have an abundance of guest houses and cottages offering the perfect self catering get away. Whether you want a romantic break, something for the family or something comfortable for a group holiday, self catering is an excellent choice. By staying at a farmhouse b&b or a private cottage, you have much more freedom and space than if you choose to stay at a hotel, they’re a great choice if you need to bring medical supplies with you or have members of the group who like to eat at certain times.
Cottage holidays offer a real home from home and allow you to stick to an established routine, making them much easier for visitors with sensory needs, autism, dementia or other conditions and with the addition of parking and outdoor space, there is enough room to bring adapted cars, bikes and other equipment as well as space for kids and dogs to burn off some energy.
When it comes to accessibility, there are lots of accommodation options offering accessible mobility equipment for guest’s use, as well as beach ready wheelchairs, perfect for a day out at the beach!
